Annie Duke may not have won her 1st WSOP Bracelet until 2004 but she remains one of the most feared poker players at the live action games at The Bellagio in sin city. Annie's longawaited World Series of Poker bracelet came with success at the "cast aside game" of Omaha hi lo.

While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker run crazy after a large win at the tournament, Annie goes home and becomes "mom" to her four children. She grew up in New Hampshire into a family of card players. If you do not believe that, check out her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who coached her how to participate in the game.

However, Mrs. Duke is no small change girl and has won her cut of hard tables, which includes eliminating Howard along the way on a couple of occasions. They are both competitors that have the capability to win the big bucks and do it with a grin.

Annie is a strong player at any poker table because she is a true poker player, but it is a little more than just being skilled at the game. Annie Duke is surprisingly intelligent and graduated from Columbia University where she majored in Psychology and English.

When you take a seat across from her at the poker table you know Annie Duke is there to compete in the game and she starts "summing" you up from the time you approach the game table. If you cannot gamble like a winner, then do not waste your time.

Earning over three million dollars in tournament play, Mrs. Duke became a consultant to both UltimateBet.com and actor Ben Affleck, who wanted to enhance his talents and grow into a force at the poker table.

You might just catch a glimpse of her at the Bellagio, you'll notice her on the tv and you might even compete against her in an on-line poker match, but don't count on an easy win. Except of course you are a camp-in-the-making, you'll not beat her. Although, it would be exciting to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
